One of the pitfalls to being a computer programmer is that you start to treat all your problems like computer bugs. You try to track down the mistaken logic that is causing the problem, only people don’t work that way. There is no going back to the beginning and making things work right.
A while ago I took an online class on happiness. It addressed the people aren’t computers issue. The trick isn’t to internalize happiness. Much easier said than done. Every so often I have to learn to step back, get rid of unhappy things and embrace the happy things.
So I sat down and added a bunch of happy things to my calendar. Wish me luck.
