Tom Week - Pissing on Rebar

12/30/21 – Milestones

I did it! 1,000 miles on the bike for 2021. That’s even more impressive considering I was off the bike for weeks recovering from my accident.

And today, I hit 10,000 miles since I started recording rides in 2011. I only did 400 miles that first year. 1,500 last year.

Working on how to celebrate.

12/31/21 – Non-standard standards

I’m trying to upgrade the brakes on my bike and keep winding up with pieces that don’t fit. Turns out that standard isn’t standard. When it comes to bike disc brakes there are actually four “standards” that are not compatible with each other. Such fun.

Happy New Year’s!

1/1/22 – Pissing On Rebar

Spencer has a new hobby, pissing on rebar. In the space next door they are build a new concrete slab which they are reinforcing with rebar. There is a pile of it and Spencer insists on peeing on the pile every time we go out.

We are back in Starke, but for the first time we are in a back-in spot along the pond where there are many ducks.

1/2/22 – New Brakes

I now have all the correct parts to upgrade my disc brakes. Yeah. I went for a ride today and the wind was terrible. There’s a storm a’comin.

1/3/22 – Cold

It snowed in Florida last night. That’s not what I signed up for.

1/4/22 – Brakes Again

I put the new rear brake on the bike. It works, but needs to be broken in and then adjusted. After it’s working fully I’ll change the front.

It’s a bit warmer today. Should be even warmer tomorrow.

1/5/22 – It’s Dry in Lake City

Last time we were here the campground was flooded. Now it’s not. That is good.
