The bike saga continues

bike 0841I continue to get emails saying I owe the San Diego bike share late fees and stuff. However they won’t give me any details. This could get fun. A bit of research revealed that they are having problems because the stations are solar powered. The one I used was under a tree.

Unable to get a cheeseburger at Jack in the Box

At the San Diego airport I stopped at the Jack in the Box. I figured a cheeseburger and fries would be a nice combination of protein, calcium and carbs. The woman behind the counter asked me what I wanted. I said that I wanted a cheeseburger. She asked me which one, and so on.

There were a few problems.

  1. The burgers all have fancy names. There is no cheeseburger.
  2. The woman behind the counter was unable to translate “cheeseburger” to any menu item.
  3. Not all menu items were on the menu. She assumed that I was familiar with the unlisted items.

After about ten minutes I gave up. I found another burger place who understood cheeseburger and fries on the very first attempt.

Job Hunt

I should hear next week on the job I interviewed for. I’m keeping my fingers and intestines crossed. In the meanwhile I’ve started to apply to other jobs, just in case.

Bike Saga Conclusion?

Got two emails today. The first said that they found the bike right where I was telling them it was since Monday. The second was a receipt for a $0 charge closing out the transaction. The only thing I’m waiting to see is if they remove the previous sixty-something charge to my credit card.

I am very tempted to write a proposal to fix their bike-tracking software. It obviously isn’t working very well.

Alas, I was not hired for the great job. The search continues.

Bike Saga Not finished

The bike rental company charged me $63 for late fees even though the bike wasn’t late. I sent them an email. I’ll keep you all updated.

It started as a joke but I’m seriously considering contacting the bike share company and offering to fix their software. They have some serious problems with their workflow and ticketing system. Also, their hardware monitoring seems to be non-existent.

If you go to their corporate website all you get is a black background. If you look at the source code for the page you find the header for a very broken WordPress site.

Random Thoughts

Medical Mother Goose: Mary had a little cyst, its pus was white as snow.

One day I want to live in a small aluminum box, that has a 6.8 liter V-10 engine.

Be careful around Gummi Bears, they’re viscous animals.
