If you stop reading this book at the end of chapter 3 you will have the impression you were missing a pretty good book. You’d be wrong. Halfway through chapter 4 the story turns, literally, off the highway into another dimension. Once that happens the ridiculous plot overwhelms what had been some intriguing characters. I labored through a couple more chapters, but things just kept getting worse. Imagine a Doctor Who episode written by Robert Heinlein and Rudy Rucker. Of course, if that combination sounds good to you, and I’d suggest professional help if id does, maybe you would like this book.
