Dodging Smoke

7/16/26 – Interstate Hell
I hate driving on interstates, but sometimes you just can't avoid it. The trucks going 80. The rickety pickups going 45. The BMWs that are pretty sure they need to get in front of you so they can slow down. I added a couple stops along the way to give myself a break.
The sky is still covered by Canadian smoke. Probably will be tomorrow. May not be able to ride my bike. My asthma is teasing a potential attack.
7/17/26 – Clear Skies
The smoke went away this morning so I managed a bike ride. Although the sky looked clear the junk from the smoke was still in the air. I didn't really notice till I started climbing a hill. Fortunately the ride back was all downhill or flat.
7/18/26 – Smoke Again
Didn't ride the bike today. Air too bad. Got a bunch of errands done before the rain came though. Oddly, the Walmarts around here don't have groceries. At least not many.
Did you know that Cindy Lauper played a psychic on Bones? I did, but I forgot.
7/19/26 – Clear Again
Today the air looked and smelled much better. No lung irritation on the bike ride.
I applied for a role in a short film. The role is comedic with no lines. Something I've done before. Something I will hopefully do again.
7/20/26 – The Process of Luck
Once again we're struggling to get a prescription. It's currently looking good, but it hasn't been easy. It turns out that key to this process is stumbling upon someone at some random pharmacy who is willing to to look up the inventory of other pharmacies in the chain. Not an easy thing to rely on.
7/21/26 – Many Rains
CVS came through! We also managed to get there and back before the big rains came. Tomorrow we head south.
7/22/26 – An Ocean
There is something about being near an ocean. It makes me happy. Almost like going home, which is weird since I'm always home. Perhaps we need to win the lottery and buy a cottage on the ocean.
