June started off great. Half way through I had already ridden more than either of the previous two months. Then I hurt my foot and couldn’t ride the whole rest of the month. I wound up in 411th for California and 11,479th nationally.
Well, now it’s July and I’m riding again. I’m pretty sure I can beat last month.
Yes, the bike trail bridge has a 5 ton limit. Cargo bikes beware.
Mr. Ed is saddled up and ready to go.
Lying right next to the trail was this late 50’s wreck of a car. Muddy ground prevented further identification.
Those are wild turkeys crossing the path. A minute later they were followed by a coyote. Just as the coyote crossed the path a couple on bikes came around the corner. They stopped at the rest area I was at and the woman commented that she was told this was a nature trail and all they’ve seen so far is that big gray dog. When I told her it was a coyote she shrieked at her husband, “My God we could have been killed!” I pointed out that the coyote was busy tracking the turkeys, so she blew her very loud horn and scared the birds away. Leaving the poor coyote hungry.
