I almost didn't make it to the track today. I never thought I'd say this, but all this karting is getting boring. I've been so much faster
than the people I'm racing against, other than in the enduro, that I've a bit bored with it all. In the end I came Sunday night to take a shot
at the super track. I'm glad I did.
I was racing against nine others and it was like bumper cars out there. I out-qualified the rest, though not by that much. It was several
laps before I came up on lapped traffic. The first two people I lapped were nice, but the next two hesitated to yield and both gave me a bump
as I passed them.
The next guy made it clear that he wasn't going to let me past, but I got him at hairpin after the bridge when he spun half
around. The next guy was a total dick. After a couple laps the course workers were again coming onto the track to hit him with the blue flag,
but he refused to yield. I got a run on him past the start/finish line and managed to hold next to him even tough I was on the outside of a long
corner. I had position on him going into the switchbacks but he turned into me anyway. I expected that and was able to keep out of the barriers,
but what I didn't expect was the guy who I'd previously lapped would come plowing into the back of me and push me out of the corner. I recovered
pretty quickily and relapped that guy two corners later. He hit me again as I passed.
Unfortunately all this banging held me back and there were three karts I wasn't able to lap. Ah well.
After the race, the guy who gave me all the trouble was yelling at the course workers that he shouldn't have been getting the blue
flag because he was just as fast as I was. He ignored them when they pointed out how quickly I pulled away after I got by him. Some
people take this way too seriously.
