For finishing 3rd in the Spring League I won a week of free racing. I started cashing that in today.
Being Monday, I was on the super track. It's been a while and my time in the league served me well as I knocked two whole seconds off
my previous best on the track. The race had a full boat of 16 karts which made for some great passing practice. All but one of the other drivers
heeded the blue flags, but I got around him on my own after a few corners. After the race he was bitching to one of the track guys about having
to move over. The track guy had no sympathy for him.
Either tomorrow or Wednesday I'll be going to do a couple practices, then on Tursday I want to try the enduro. 45 minutes of straight driving.
We'll see if I can make it the whole way. Then on Saturday and Sunday I'll be doing three or four races each day. It will be interesting to see
how this intense driving affects my lap times.
Speaking of lap times. I've been monkeying with the seat position and I seem to be narrowing in on the prime setup. Today I moved the seat a bit too
far back and had a bit more understeer than I cared for. So now that I've gone too far i one direction I think I've found the sweet spot. Now as long
as I don't loose weight and get moved to the red karts I'm all set.
The kart today was very good. It seemed to lack some oomf coming out of the corners but had lots of power late in the straight. As I said above
there was some understeer, but the read wheels kept planted, except for a few occasions where my accelleration was not smooth. I'm also doing much
better on the zig-zags before the hill and what I call the fish-hook turn right after the start line.
