Tom's Race Log
Another Tenth on the Super Track (8/25/2008)

Features

My schedule changes make it easiest for me to make it to the track on Monday evenings, which is one of the times the Super Track is available. It costs slightly more but it's fun. I was racing mostly newer drivers and lapped all but one at least once. So I managed to knock another tenth off my best time. What was weird is that I did that on my third lap. My first lap went well but the tires were a bit cold so I lost some time. My second lap I was pushing too hard and lost a bunch of time. On the third lap I did a good job of slowing down before the sharp corners. Then I started lapping the other karts. I got hit by several of them. As usual, being in traffic gets my adreniline pumping and for the whole rest of the race I entered the corners too fast. Ah well.

Currently I've got the 24th fastest time for the week and the 60th fastest time for the month. Slowly creeping up there.

And for the first time ever, I had the same kart as my last race. The previous I noted that the horsepower seemed higher than normal and that the clutch was locking up more and sooner than usual. In the month between races they "fixed" the clutch so it acted as normal, meaning I had to use the brakes more than last month. The power still seemed high, which is of course a good thing.
