Monza Track bumper cars

My last few trips to the track I was able to make alot of progress on lap times, but I also had the track mostly to myself. Today the track was packed with mostly newcomers, and the track workers were so busy pulling people off the walls that they didn't have time for waving the little blue flags at the karts I was lapping. So I was on my own and I had a ball. Several times I came up on groups of three or four slower karts that I'd have to weave my way through, often passing people by going around the outside on curves. I got many surprised looks from the other karters.

There was one driver that was faster than me in the clear, but I was much faster than him in traffic. In fact I was able to lap him because he got stuck behind a couple of lapped karts and I was able to get by all three of them in just a pair of corners. Who says I don't have an ego? Of course I can't take all the credit. I might not have caught him up if he didn't run into the wall...twice, thanks to my wife. No she wasn't on the track, she was watching from the spectator area and she decided she didn't like this driver's attitude, so she put her special curse on him and he went straight into the wall. Of course he was so pissed off about getting stuck that after being freed he went too fast and stuffed the wall again. So remember, don't bug my wife or you'll be cursed.

The kart I had today was a bit odd. It had a ton of power but was very finiky about braking/accellerating. These karts have a switch that cuts out the engine if you hit the brakes and gas at the same time. This particular kart's switch was a bit sticky so after braking I had to wait a beat before hitting the gas or the engine would sputter. Of course, trying to remember to skip a beat when you in the middle of a race isn't so easy.
