The MiniB, short for Mini BMX, is a 1987 Murray SX1. I found it on the street in dire need of help. The frame and wheels were covered with rust and the tires were shredded to a point I would not have thought possible.
My first step was to clean up the front wheel. I pulled off the spokes and tore down the hub. I soaked all the hub parts in solvent. I cleaned off the spokes and painted them black. I used a wire wheel on a drill to scrape off the rust. It all turned off very nicely. Below is a picture comparing the cleaned-up front wheel and the still rusty rear wheel.

So it turns out that the rear hub with its coaster brake and all is considerably more complicated than the front hub. The picture to the right is the disassembled hub soaking in WD40. I was distracted when I was taking it apart and did not take very good notes so i hope I can get it back together right.
