Aerostar

Blue bikeThe Aerostar is done. This is my first fixer-upper though it actually needed very little fixing. I gave it a good cleaning, shortened and patched the brake cable, lubed the chain and straightened the seat and handlebars. Everything else was fine as was. The tires have good tread and hold air no problem. The wheels are nice and shiny. The spokes are tight.

Schwinn LogoThis is a nice little bike. It’s one of Schwinn’s Signature series which means it’s a higher quality than the Schwinn’s found at the big department stores. They list this as a boy’s bike but the frame is identical to the pink girl’s version. It has a space theme, hence the name.

I found a web site that states that bikes with 20″ wheels fit kids 6 to 12. That sound like quite a large range to me, but the seat post has a lot of adjustment length.

bicycle bellOne of my favorite things on the bike is the bell. It not only rings well but the cover spins around. Real cool.

On Christmas Eve it went to it’s new home. hooray!
