These are my current projects

Bike Name Description
Glamour Puss pink bike
A little pink bike I got for free off Craigslist. Another kid-destined fixer-upper.
Lug Girl bike in a milk crate
A 20″ wheeled lugged steel framed girls bike from the 60′s or early 70′s. It is literally in a basket and is missing some major components. This one will take a while.
Rocky bike frame
A Specialized Hardrock frame I bought cheap from two very nice guys at the SF bike expo. This will be the rat bike I’ve been dreaming of.
Izzy burning man bike I got this former Burning Man bike with the approval of its former owner Izzy the pug. Under all that fur it is a Magna West Coast which sold for $99 at Target. It has much rust and needs much lube but it should make a serviceable cruiser.
OH YEAH! The pedals don’t match. Way cool.
The Twins cute bikesI found these cuties on the sidewalk. One is a Little Tykes the other is a Care Bears. Other than the stickers and the colors they are identical. Oddly, the Care Bears version in mint condition is worth three times as much as the mint Little Tykes version. Are two stickers really worth that much?
Collie I’m a sucker for an abandoned bike. To be technical this one is little more than a frame and fork. I didn’t really need another project but I had a Columbia bike when I was a kid so I have a soft spot.

My Personal Bikes

Bike Name Description
Lambo bike
This is my current every day bike. It’s a higher-end department store bike that I bought off Amazon for $225. A Lamborghini Rapido. The Lamborghini in question is Tonio who sells his family’s name to pretty much everyone. In reality it’s a generic Chinese road bike imported by Kent. It’s all original except for the rear rack and Schwalbe tires and tubes replacing the uber soft tires that came with it.
ebaby racing bike
My first bike build. Assembled from bits and pieces I picked up off eBay. I’m not sure what I’m going to do
with this bike. Currently I’m using it when I want to go fast. If my heart and stamina improve during 2012 it may be my racing bike in 2013.
Mr. Ed My new for-the-RV folding bike. Folded up it sits in the storage compartment so it’s perfect for traveling. Now I have no excuse not to ride on vacations. I’ll add a picture when I take my first real ride.

Oh yeah, the name. The brand of the bike is Adventurer. When I think of adventurers I think of Sir Edmund Hillary. However I didn’t think that a bike deserved knighthood so I decided on Mr. Ed. Now when people ask me if the bike is named for the talking horse I can answer, “Of course, not.”

Past Bikes

Bike Name Description
MiniB Chrome bike
Mini Murray BMX. A very cool little miniature BMX bike I found on the street. Piles of work went into this 25 year old beauty. Gone to a little kid-infested home.
RT10 black bikeA very odd bike. It is a Kent Rolling Thunder 10 speed kid’s bike. I have never before seen a kid’s 20 inch ten speed. What makes it even odder is the shift levers. They are mounted on the stem but they are in a box like the old Schwinns.
Aerostar blue bike
A 20″ kids bike I got for $10 in order to practice fixing up bikes. On Christmas Eve it went to it’s new owner.
Foldy folding mountain bike
I bought this folding mountain bike at a yard sale for $75. I don’t think it had ever been ridden. It was put together badly. I reassembled everything and tuned it up. Unfortunately I only got to ride it about a mile before my RV got stolen, with the bike in it.
